Geotechnical Studies & Reports

Shirley Consulting Engineers undertake a wide range of geotechnical studies and prepare a variety of reports on the investigations to suit a particular client's requirements.

The investigations range from simple 'walk-over' inspections to extensive geotechnical mapping and assessment studies involving weeks / months of fieldwork and associated documentation.

The firm has developed sophisticated methods of field mapping and site documentation to enable the rapid assessment of the various site risks arising from the identified geotechnical hazards and regularly prepare reports on a proposed development for both planning purposes and for submission with a development proposal to a Local Council. Reports for submission to a Council are usually prepared in conformance with both the guidelines suggested by the Australian Geomechanics Society, and the relevant Local Council's requirements.

Some of the firm's staff are accredited 'slope stability hazard assessors' by the Roads & Traffic Authority of NSW.
