Shirley Consulting Engineers are normally engaged on a 'time and expense' basis in accordance with the terms of engagement suggested by the College of Investigative & Remedial Consulting Engineers of Australia.
Prior to undertaking work, a 'fee agreement' [including an inital project budget], is normally formulated and agreed to by the client before the start of a project.
It is however noted that investigative projects commonly change direction / scope during the work, and thus require adjustments to the fee budget as the work proceeds.
