Project:Wyong Coastline Management Study
Client:Wyong Shire Council
In the late 1990's, Wyong Shire Council engaged Shirley Consulting Engineers [in conjunction with the University of NSW] to identify the potential for instability in the various cliff and headland areas within the Council area north of The Entrance. The study required the firm to provide specific recommendations / guidelines as to methods of dealing with the various hazards, and coastline hazard zoning maps for use by the Council's officers in development control & planning.

In 2004, and after unsuccessful attempts had been made by others to extend the original work by Shirley Consulting Engineers, the firm was re-engaged by the Wyong Shire Council to undertake a comprehensive investigation of the entire Wyong Shire coastline and to provide detailed hazard management options. The scope of the 2004 Coastline Management Study included both an update & expansion of the original work, as well as an extension of the study area to include the headland / bluff areas south of The Entrance, to the southern extremity of the Shire at Yumbool Point.
